Product Care
Our pieces are crafted to be part of your home for a lifetime. Because of the natural materials and unique finishes we use, a little extra love goes a long way in preserving their beauty. You’ll find our recommended care steps below. If you’re ever unsure, our Customer Service Team is always here to help.
Note: These guidelines are shared to help you maintain your items; however, because every home environment is different, we cannot guarantee specific results and no warranty is implied.
General Care
To maintain the integrity of your piece, please consider its placement. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, heat, or high humidity can lead to fading or cracking. Whenever possible, keep surfaces covered and always use coasters or trivets under glassware and hot dishes to prevent thermal shock or ring marks.
Stone
Wipe spills immediately (especially oil, wine, or acids like lemon juice). Our stone products are treated with a professional-grade sealant, providing excellent resistance to most common stains from liquids like water or juice, provided spills are wiped up promptly.
Use a pH-neutral cleaner or stone soap with a soft cloth. Avoid vinegar, lemon, or harsh cleaners.
Seal the surface regularly (every 6-12 months) to help resist stains and moisture.
Concrete
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap.
Avoid harsh chemicals, acids, or abrasive pads that can damage the surface.
Keep in covered or indoor spaces where possible; while durable, magnesium oxide composites can still be sensitive to excessive moisture or freezing conditions over time.
Avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects across the surface to prevent scratches. Mild scratches can be covered with provided touch-up paint.
Wood
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and immediately wipe dry.
Avoid placing in direct sunlight or near heat sources to prevent warping and fading.
Apply furniture polish or wax occasionally (depending on the finish) to nourish and protect the wood.
Fabric
- Boucle - Vacuum gently to avoid pulling loops. Spot clean with mild detergent. Keep away from pets or sharp objects that may snag fibers. Professional cleaning recommended for heavy stains.
- Linen - Vacuum and brush regularly. Blot spills immediately—avoid rubbing. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources to avoid fading. Professional cleaning recommended for heavy stains.
- Chenille - Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment to lift dirt and dust from the surface. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — avoid rubbing to prevent damaging the pile. Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. Chenille can be prone to “crushing” (flattening of the pile), so gently brush or steam to restore texture. Professional upholstery cleaning is recommended for deep stains.
- Velvet - Vacuum regularly with an upholstery attachment. Blot (don’t rub) spills with a clean cloth. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources to avoid fading. Use a velvet brush or steamer to lift the pile and restore texture.
- Corduroy - Vacuum regularly with an upholstery attachment to lift dust from between the wales (ridges). Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, avoid rubbing, which can flatten the pile. Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. If the pile becomes crushed, lightly steam and brush in the direction of the nap to restore texture. Professional upholstery cleaning is recommended for stubborn stains.
- Wool - Vacuum with a brush attachment. Blot spills with clean, dry cloth—avoid water saturation. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources to avoid fading. Professional cleaning recommended for heavy stains.
- Vegan Leather - Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals. Keep away from sharp objects that may scratch the surface. Apply a vinyl-safe protectant occasionally to prevent drying and cracking.
- Vegan Suede - Gently brush with a soft suede brush to remove dust and restore the nap. For small stains, use a slightly damp cloth and blot (do not rub). Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources to avoid fading and drying. Avoid contact with oils, ink, and liquids that may stain. Use a protective spray designed for synthetic suede to increase resistance to stains and water. For deeper cleaning, spot-treat with mild soap and water.
- Jersey - Vacuum lightly with a soft brush attachment to remove dust. Spot clean with mild soap and water; blot gently to avoid stretching the fabric. Keep away from sharp objects or Velcro that may snag the knit. Avoid direct, prolonged sunlight, as UV rays can weaken elastic fibers and cause fading.
- Vegan Sherpa - Vacuum with a soft brush attachment or gently shake out to remove dust and debris. Spot clean with mild soap and water — blot, don’t rub. Keep away from high heat and open flames, as synthetic fibers can melt. Avoid excessive sunlight to reduce fading. Use a fabric brush to fluff and restore softness if the pile becomes matted.
Glass
Use glass cleaner or a mix of vinegar and water with a lint-free cloth. Use coasters and placemats to prevent scratches and water rings. Avoid abrasive pads or cleaners.
Plastics
Wipe with damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can cause discoloration or brittleness.
Metal
- Polished - Wipe with a soft cloth and mild soap. For fingerprints, use a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive pads that can scratch the finish.
- Powder-coated - Wipe with damp cloth and mild soap. Dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may chip paint.
Leather
Dust or vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources to prevent drying or cracking. Condition leather every 6–12 months with a high-quality leather conditioner.
Sheepskin
Shake out regularly and vacuum with a gentle brush attachment. Spot clean with warm water and a wool-safe detergent. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent drying and fading. Avoid moisture exposure, as water can harden the hide. Brush with a sheepskin or pet brush to keep the fleece fluffy and soft. Professional cleaning is recommended for larger stains or deep cleaning.
Handwoven Materials
- Paper Cord - Vacuum regularly with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris. For light stains, gently blot with a damp cloth — avoid soaking the cord. Keep away from excessive moisture, as water can weaken the fibers and cause sagging. Use cushions or pads on heavily used seats to reduce wear. Do not kneel or place sharp/heavy objects on woven areas, as the cord can stretch or break under concentrated pressure.
- Rattan - Dust regularly with a microfiber cloth or vacuum with a brush attachment. For deeper cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water and immediately dry with a clean cloth. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight, as rattan can become brittle or discolored. Apply a thin coat of furniture wax or boiled linseed oil periodically to keep the fibers supple and prevent drying or cracking.
Hardware
When assembling with screws, avoid excessive force or over-tightening. Keep away from moisture to prevent rust or tarnish. Tighten loose screws or handles periodically.
Cushions
Fluff and rotate cushions periodically to maintain shape and comfort.
Outdoor
- Performance Weave - Brush off loose dirt, then clean with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Resistant to fading, but best to store cushions indoors and cover during extreme weather.
- Natural Teak - Wash periodically with mild soap and water using a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt, pollen, and mildew. Rinse thoroughly and let dry. Teak naturally resists moisture and insects, but it will weather to a silvery-gray patina over time if left untreated. Use furniture covers when not in use to reduce sun and rain exposure. Apply a teak oil once or twice a year if you want to maintain its golden-brown color.
- Weathered Teak - Wash periodically with mild soap and water using a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt, pollen, and mildew. Rinse thoroughly and let dry. Use furniture covers when not in use to reduce sun and rain exposure. Apply a teak oil once or twice a year.
