A technical innovation
Perhaps the most awe-inspiring aspect of the Ghost Armchair is its ability to transform a room despite being virtually transparent. Starck accomplished a technological breakthrough with the complexity of this design.
Starck’s success is derived from his ability to create beautifully versatile furnishings that are accessible to many, just not the very wealthy.
A chair fit for royalty
The Ghost Armchair is a reinvention of Louis XVI’s famous armchair. Even the modern iteration is fit for royalty.
Interior Icons vs Traditional Retail
By cutting out the middle men and traditional 200-400% markup, we’re able to offer you beautiful, lasting designer furniture at exceptional value.
As one of the most original current designers, Phillippe Starck is known for his creativity and contributions to interior and architectural design. He has worked with manufacturers around the globe, producing innovative furniture pieces, decorations, home appliances, and even office supplies.
Starck has been internationally recognised for his works, receiving various awards including the Grand Prix National de la Création industrielle and the Honour Award of the American Institute of Architects.
The designer defines himself in a multitude of ways, dubbing himself "a Japanese architect, an American art director, a German industrial designer, a French artistic director and Italian furniture designer".
Starck doesn’t take himself too seriously. He once said, "My best office is my bed."
Pleased with my purchase. I have owned these before, and these chairs definitely matched my expectations. Nice work, Interior Icons!
We purchased two ghost chairs to supplemented our dining room table when we have 10 people for dinner. They are sturdy but lightweight and easy to move from room to room. They are comfortable enough that you don’t need a cushion. We keep them in our guest room and since they are clear they blend in with any decor.
This chair is comfortable as well as being good looking and very sturdy
I'm very pleased. I bought this to use as a desk chair, as I moved my office upstairs to our former living room (now library/office) and I wanted something chic, not office-y. I also wanted a clear chair to go with a campaign-style writing desk, to keep the room from looking too crowded. This fit the bill perfectly. It is a hard chair, there's no getting around that, but it's still ok for a full 8-hour workday.
