Philip Arctander

Despite his contributions to the world of design which began in the 40s, unassuming Danish architect Philip Arctander, was relatively unknown until the turn of the 21st century. He spent less than a decade designing furniture, but during this time, created the iconic Clam chair which found global fame in the 1990s. Though highly desirable, the chair’s origins were unknown and often misattributed until Arctander’s name was finally reunited with the design almost two decades later, and found global fame.
