
Marcel Breuer
Renowned for his design of UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, Marcel Lajos Breuer was an accomplished and celebrated architect. The designer had a passion for designing smaller-scale pieces, as well. Now called the Wassily chair after Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky, Breuer’s contribution of the 1926 Steel Club Armchair won him critical acclaim. The innovative piece was considered a breakthrough in interior design.
